Moving is always difficult! New place, new people, new school. Where is the doctor’s office? Where can I find a good babysitter? Will I make new friends? If any of this sounds familiar to you please come and join our new Moving on After Moving In newcomers’ class. It is a 13-week biblical study designed to help and encourage women going through the transition and adjustment of moving. The class is based on Susan Miller’s book, After the Boxes Are Unpacked. If you have just moved, this is the place to be! New neighbors just move in? Please tell them about this great way to meet new friends!
Watercolor Portrait Workshop
Creating Expressive, Contemporary Portaits in Watercolor
Saturday, March 10
9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Cost: $50
Location: Kitchen Serving Area
Instructor: Peggi Habets
Drawing or painting a portrait with personality requires more than achieving an accurate likeness. Watercolor portrait and figure artist, Peggi Habets, shows you how to go beyond the ordinary to create expressive, contemporary portraits of people, young and old.
This workshop will focus on:
- achieving accurate values in your paintings
- techniques to paint glowing, lively skin tones
- adding expression to your paintings
What to bring:
- One of your drawings or paintings (unframed, any subject) to show the group.
- Your drawing and painting supplies. I will provide a materials list of what I will be using that day, but feel free to bring supplies that you already have. To get the best results, you will want to have high-quality art supplies, especially paper.
- Good, detailed reference photographs to work from. You may want to have a drawing or two started to save time although we will work on composition and design during the workshop.
Coffee, tea and pastries will be provided. You can bring your own lunch or buy it at the nearby food court.
Call or email with any questions: peggihabets@gmail.com or 412-951-9144. You can see Peggi's work online.
